for everyone who is running a cone..

I think u need quite a bit of clearance with a cone ...
That was one of the concerns about even using a cone under these hoods, cramped as they are. Why not remove the air box and get an adapter like they are talking about above.

If you have just the air filter, you would suck in hot air from the engine bay. in which...
you will lose power. the colder the air the better. thats why i wanted to coat my airbox with the heat resistant material, and just put a cone filter in there. and cut some holes in the front, so the air stays cooler, and also has the ram air type intake already.

Putting a cone filter into an airbox is pointless.
A cone needs 4-6" on all sides to flow to it's potential. Any obstructions are not only limiting flow but also disturbing flow patterns.
Your best bet for a "cold air" intake, is a ram-air system using the stock airbox and panel filter. Follow the IM workshop link in my sig and click on the air filter comparison for more info on stock filters.

agreed! you'll never get a cone in that airbox, nor would you want to....
either do the air box/panel filter, or delete and do the cone. just remember you will have to control heat via a shield or something, otherwise you are defeating the purpose.
you could also [with a cone] plumb the intake further down, to your lower valance for some good cold air stylee!
