Free up hp or gain hp?
I am kinda new to performance options for my 96 A4 2.8Q. I was wondering what anyone recommends on doing to this engine? I'm not really looking at putting a supercharger in.
I have found on here to put an electric fan in place of the rad fan or get e new TB. Are these things even worth doing?

No sorry but there are some dyno results in the archives ...
Some of them have similar mods to me but i don't remember the exact numbers. It doesn't matter much to me cause i know it definitely pulls harder, and longer. It also sounds better, and is more fun to drive. It was also a lot of fun to work on ... with the help of AW of course :-)

yeah I'm looking to do the same thing.
The Car is fun but i'd like some HP between 250 and 300. there is some slugish power in lower gears. let me know if you find anything. someone mentioned motodyne.com too me they have some good parts for decent prices.

Found this in the faq...
I might have changed my mind on the supercharge idea when I came across that. Looks like the best and only option especially if you want that much gain, guy says in there it will give up to 260hp.

12v V6 SC

ya that is a nice system but.....
they made the PES G1 s/c for our engine and the PES G2 s/c for the 30v. but i read that the G1 has been discontinued. the only way to get one is used. but i seen one on motodyne.com i haven't checked into it but i will soon. it is pretty pricey but in the hp range i'm looking for.
