Bulb warning light came on yesterday, went to change the bulb...but that wasn't the problem. Where do I start...I currently am running the high beam wires to the normal lights so I don't get pulled over...Am I wrong to think "same bulb, same voltage"? I figure the electrical can't be anywhere near as bad as that on my MG!

I think the bulb warning light can also mean that your turn signal lights are out. Turn on your hazard lights and see if a bulb is burnt-out on any of the 4 corners. Then check to see if one of your brake-lights is out. (It was a brake-light that was out on mine.)
My Confusion: Why are you running the high beam wires to the normal lights? Did you have a problem with the headlight switch? I think the wattage is the same (same bulb), so I think you're OK, but what are you going to do for high beams when you need it?

Unfortunately I have 8 finals this week, so no time to tinker around yet, guess it will have to do. But it is deffinately the left head light, wiring I should say, I ran the high beam wires over so that i wasn't blinding anyone at night...guess I'll have to take the headlight out and wire test everything.

So you are running your high beams all the time? This is not a good idea. And yes the high beams and low beams run the same voltage, the only difference is the patter of light, determined by the headlight housing. So is one headlight low beam working and the other not? If so, you need to get yourself a digital multimeter and take some readings from the good wiring plug and compare it to the bad one. If you don't feel like you are capable to do this, you need to get this car into a shop, because i'm sure you are pissing off a lot of drivers running highs all the time.

I must have been unclear. I'm running the high beam wire from the bad side to the low beam bulb in the low beam housing on the bad side, and disconected the functional high beam on the good side, thus, no High beams none of the time. But functional low beams with the high beam switch engaged. hence no angry Virginian rednecks hunting down this damn Yankee with their twelve gauge.
