Default hey guys i got a couple more questions.

Ok as some of you may remember I had a pretty bad stumble under acceleration well Saturday I got some time to play with the car so I pulled the plenium off and cleaned that, I also found that the vacuum hose from the TB to plenium was broken so I replaced that. I also found that I was missing one of the grommets that attach the TB to plenium, does anyone know a place to get these besides the dealer? The end result is a car that runs much better then it did before, very little stumble when warm, but still very apparent when cold (after sitting the night, I think my next step is to clean out the egr valve and egr tube, where does the tube connect to on the car?
And does anyone have the link to urs4's phone cord TB to plenium seal fix?

Thanks guys for all your helpful information.
Jimmy

Default First off you can make some new TB post-locating grommets out of...

.250" (1/4") I.D. fuel line available at most any auto parts store. Buy one foot of it and cut off pieces that are 3/4" long that will replace your existing grommets. Works like a charm and you'll have enough hose to make 16 of em. At about 39 cents per foot save yourself the embarrassment of having them tell you "no" when you ask to buy 1.5" at 2.6 cents... enough to make 2.

Phone cord sealing ring is simple: Cut a piece of RJ11 phone cord to 11 3/16" long. Then cut both ends at a +/- 45 degree angle so that the angles, when pushed together overlap each other inside the throttle body rubber sealing ring and looks seamless, like one continuous band of RJ11. Dont worry that it might seem about 1/8" too long when you push it into the sealing ring channel as that overlap will be taken up when you stretch it back over the throttle body flange. And if you locate the seam over the secondary venturi (when viewed from the top) you can then re-seat the splice area by pushing a Bic pen cap pocket clip (or similar) in there to re-seat the seam all the way into the rubber channel before re-attaching the plenum.

Feel free E-me or ask questions here if you're still unclear about any aspect I've described.

Default you need to help me a bit with a better description of which EGR tube...

Only one I know thats EGR related hooks directly to the EGR dashpot.

Default i thought there was a metal tube that goes on the bottom of the egr valve and hooks up somewhere?

i could definitely be wrong cause i have not dug in to it that much.

Default nope, nothing like that attached to the throttle body, plenum area. There is an EGR valve...

and it lives nearby but it's only connection to any of this is via that small vac line I mentioned previously.

Default The tube connects to the exhaust manifold. That's where the EGR gases come from..

..then they go thru the valve to the EGR passage in the intake manifold and exit via a small hole just in front of the throttle body.

Default I cleaned that passage out the other day...

I did it when I had the throttle body removed for a cleaning.
