Default IAC valve fit problem. My IAC was bad and the replacement

is a different style but same part number. The original has left an impression in the flange it mounts to. The replacement is not sealing properly against flange and leaking a lot of air into the intake.

Any ideas how to fix this short of getting a new flange? I was thinking of heating the flange and then mounting the new valve. The flange seems to be made of a very hard rubber. I am not thinking silicone because I would not like it if it got sucked into the intake or fowled up this valve.

Default

Can't you replace the rubber flange with a new one?

Default yes....but not today. I will have to order one. I heated the rubber up with a heat gun

and replaced the valve. The leak has improved quite a bit, but I still hear some hissing.
