my stock oil filler cap was leakin do I put on a aftermarket one. It lasted about 2 weeks and is now leaking.
Any fix for this? is something cloged causing high pressure? My PCV lines are squeekey clean, however, is there a "mesh" type filter anywhere in the pcv system that trys to get bigger chunks of oil out??
if so...mabyee it is clogged?

My OE oil cap had a small crack and started leaking. So when I did my cam cover gaskets I cleaned all that out including the filters and replaced the cap with a metal AutoZone replacement and now it leaks as well. Weird to because the AZ unit seems extremely snug when I turn it in place.

Make sure that the small vacuum hose that comes out from right under the driver's side valve cover breather hose on the plenum is not clogged and that it is properly connected at both ends.
Also check the breather hoses for cracks and damaged connectors.
The AutoZone cap may appear to fit tightly, but maybe it seals poorly anyway.

It wasn't leaking yet, but the gasket didn't look good anymore. When I remove the cap its back is wet with oil, but I don't notice any leakage.

I bought one when i did the engine rebuild, no problems whatsoever, its a very snug fit with the stock cap and new gasket

It might be the Aftermarket cap causing the leaking. Every time I go to top off or replace the oil I see oil seapage around the cap top. I always make sure to clean it off but it keeps coming back. No big deal I will figure it out when I have more time.
