Default MAF thoughts

I am looking for a MAF that is modifiable, i.e. a 078 133 471A one, but I have the older type 4-wire small body MAF on my car.

I'm confident that I can suss out how to wire a 3-wire MAF to my 4-wire system, but I can't seem to find one (other than at the stealership).

Anyone out there know of a reasnoable source of Audi 2nd hand parts in the UK ?

OR -

Anyone know what other vehicles use the same MAF ?

Cheers

DA

Default Dave.....a few websites that i have found useful

www.allaudi.co.uk
www.vw-audi-specialists.co.uk
www.vagparts.com but for new parts

also these premium rate 0898 dial a part numbers are excellent if you are prepared to pay 4 quid for the call.....they have a central database and the breakers call you direct with no obligation....very cheap parts too....worth a try

Default so allow me to clarify...

did you splice over to the correct 3-pin plug for the new 3-plug MAF? I was thinking about doing the same project (because I have a crappy 4-pin MAF), but wasn't sure if it was possible. Someone mentioned that the purposes of each wire is identical between the two MAF's, so I thought I'd gamble and buy a 078 133 471A to try.

You have a UrS4 stage 3 MAF then?

wow, if you've done what I think you've done, this Rocks!

check yah later

Default nope.......

unscrew original sensor from original maf, unscrew new sensor from new maf, swap sensors, install new maf with old sensor in car.

i bought my maf&sensor used from http://www.autox.biz/. its just a later style one, i haven't upgraded yet ;o)
