Default Mori, whats the best oil for summer?

You seem to be the oil expert around these parts. I'm not afraid of using synthetics like some people.

Default Do you have any oil consumption issues?

Is this car mostly street-driven?

Is it the 12v engine?

Default How many times has poor Mori had to ask that question?

Perhaps we should start a pool and then have someone do a search of all of Mori's posts for the answer. ;-p

Default It is a 12v and yes it is street driven

although it is pushed a bit harder on the street than most 100s. And i've heard that all 12 valves gulp oil.

Default Not all 12v engines drink...

... but many do due to age and mileage.

Oil consumption should be considered when choosing an oil. In general, I'd stick with a 5W-40.

If you want a premium synthetic oil, I suggest Pennzoil Platinum 5W-40 European Synthetic Formula. This oil might work, even if you have mild oil consumption issues. If cost is no issue, try Red Line 5W-40. If you have consumption issues with the RL, get fixed what needs fixing. Other options include Motul, Elf and Amsoil 5W-40, Lubro Moly and Pentosynth oils.

A good choice is also Castrol 5W-40. Because it's a Group III oil, oil consumption may be lower than with a full synthetic.

For a real oil burner, I suggest Chevron Delo 400 15W-40 mineral oil. While oil consumption will likely drop, it's not a fix but a band aid.
