Default Mystery Plug after doing Timing Belt Package?

This past weekend I did a timing belt package (timing belt, serp. belt, tensioner, pulley, water pump, thermostat, cam seals, crank seal etc.) on my 97 Audi A4 2.8 12v. Well everything went fine until I was putting the front end back on. I then noticed when plugging back up the wires under the power steering reservoir cover, that I was missing a wire to plug back in (see pic). I looked all around the motor, underneath behind tb covers (I looked for like an hour) and could not find anything. Anyway I went ahead and put the car back together and have been driving it for the past two weeks. I have had no check engine lights, and every option is working just fine. I know most people would say f!@K it, but it's bothering me. So I'm hoping one of you guys will recognize it, when you see the pic. Thanks!

Oh never mind that connector. I found that years ago in the location marked in the picture below. My best guess is that it's wiring installed for a feature not implemented in the US version of the A4. At least I think it's the same connector as this one:

I think you're right moribundman, that is the exact same plug. I wonder what it is in Germany.

Could it be the wiring for the headlight levelers (manual up/down adjustment) that are a standard feature in Germany?

Do you mean the sensor underneath the reservoir, because that one is plugged in. Also I would think that would throw a code, but I'm not sure.
