I guess its time for me to pick up the phone rather than to rely on the Internet.
Nice choice BTW! I can't wait to get the dual-tips. My current setup is a single 3" tip and I despise how it looks (and it's ****-eyed).

On the left side of the picture, right below the flex joint, it looks like you have very little clearance. The flex joint may allow the exhaust to rub against the car right there.
Hopefully you'll get lucky and this won't be a problem.

and they do list that as a 2.25" inlet but I think it's a typo as EVERY last SS 5"x8" oval muffler with tips is listed as a 2.25" unit on their site and I know thats wrong!

In fact I installed the entire system so that it is at least as high as stock exhaust and mostly higher and no piece is closer than 5/8" to anything it could hit or rub against for 360 degrees around any part of the exhausts diameter. And there's only one spot that's 5/8" near the leading edge of the rear control arm mounting pivot bracket. Most other "tight spots" are 7/8"-1.125" away from anything. On the way home last night throwing it around and driving over washboard roads I couldn't make anything hit. That's always one of the first things I do with any aftermarket exhaust is try to make it "clunk" or rattle.
The reason I made everything higher than stock is if I have to go back in and install the resonator it will then become the lowest hanging piece that will be 1/4" lower than the lowest hanging piece on the stock system.

Part of the reason is that 6 cylinders of exhaust can make the 'biscuit' (catalyzing element) hotter than just 3 cylinders can even with a larger cat as ALL exhaust is going thru the one element. Additionally you get the benefit of a balance pipe between the two banks which helps balance and scavenge the two exhaust manifolds quicker. Not as effectively as an "X" pipe but with no additional parts.

Is there a wierd noise during acceleration, sort of a frrr-fprpprpr type sound??
And do you notice a louder backfire sound going on during slowing in gear?

no raspiness at all but it does "burble" and backfire on deceleration. During normal cruising it's an entirely acceptable sound and sound level. It's the acceleration/deceleration level thats too loud for my liking. My son LOVES it and said he wouldn't change a thing. But thats a 54/20 age difference for ya.
But no drone or harmonic resonance thru the chassis at any RPM.
