UrS4, what about this idea...

If we bought the new VS, can we use the older style VS as the horn for the Ram-Air setup? (This would be the horn sticking into the airbox and the tail of the VS would be covered with tubing and clamped.) Or is the overall diameter too small?

the ram air velocity stack is 2" longer than the airbox velocity stack....

it needs this additional length in order to have enough protrusion sticking out of the lower part of the airbox for the duct hose to clamp on to.

Does the S3 flow 20% better than the original, wider mouthed VS that required the airbox lid to be

heated like the one I have now?

probably does by a little. Not enough to replace yours...

I just gave up recommending people "ballon" their airboxes after someone melted a hole in theirs trying and I felt obligated to replace it.

If people could do the heat/push method successfully I'd rather make them all like yours as I wouldn't need to machine them or increase the price. But not everyone is capable with a butane torch or heat gun.
