Okay, I decided to clean up the ride today, going on a long weekend trip. I had this brillant idea to use dielectric grease on all the connections under the hood..
now it won't run.. well.. it will barely run..
I did the spark plugs.
the fuel injectors
the O2 connections
the vaccum connections,etc
What gives?? Was that the worst idea known to man to do or what??

Pull the plugs and get it of their connectors too. Die-electric is silicone grease so make sure none gets near the MAF sensor wires or they're toast.
Once you've cleaned it all out order some Pro Gold 100GxL. It's the best connectors, switches, plugs and sockets cleaner/conditioner on earth!
You can do a Google search on it or go to www.caig.com for all the poop. It's the ONLY thing I've used since discovering it in the early eighties. And I use it on EVERY electrical connector under the hood of all three of my cars. And on every TV, stereo cable, interconnect and 110v outlet related to those items in my home. Incredibly good stuff!

upon further exploration..
It appears the the front two ignition coils (or what ever they are called) are not working.. that would explain why Cyl 3 and Cyl 5 are the only two running...
Ideas?

Perhaps you mistakenly used regular grease, or, alternatively, the tube you used did not contain what it said it did??? Sounds a lot like someone make a mistake somewhere.
Additionally, did the dielectric grease indicate that it could handle high voltages like those on spark plug connections??? I usually see that stuff used on 12v battery terminals, not on high amp applications.
I would just try to remove it and see what happens. Start with the spark plugs first. Then, if that does not work, the fuel injectors and O2 connections. Vacuum hoses should be okay.

they're easily fried. My son had a friend over one morning and he was testing them with a screwdriver against ground while I was inside getting a cup of coffee. By the time I got back outside he had fried all 3. Very sensitive those things.

if the high voltage is jumping through the grease as opposed to the plug. Hear any arcing sounds (like a tick tick tick)
