Oil Leak!

Oil Leak!
Hello all, My 96 A4 2.8 has a major oil leak from behind the engine. The car was fine till yesterday evening and suddenly, the low oil pressure warning showed up on the panel...
The closest garage looked at it and said it's not the oil pressure sending unit nor the filter. He specifically mentioned that it was coming from behind the engine...
If anyone had similar experience, please let me know what I could do. The car is due for timing belt service. Is it advisable to dispose the car or get it repaired? it's got 106k miles.
Thank you.

and if you decide to junk it lemme know...
I'll gladly give you a lowball offer
I too think it's the valley pan gasket, fyi. Must be really blown though to put on a low oil pressure light... you check your oil level recently?

Yes, I did check the oil over the weekend and it was fine, the car does'nt burn oil... I will get it repaired if its reasonable...
Is it going to be expensive if its the Valley Pan Gasket? Is it the one underneath the intake manifold?
Thanks...

the gasket itself is like $15 at most...
it's the labor that's gonna get ya depending on the shop
When I did my IM swap it took me about 6 hrs or so, but I was taking my time. I could probably do it again in about 2-3 now.
regardless it'd probably be a $200 repair or so. Also, you'll need a new EGR gasket, and new intake manifold to head gaskets, and possibly new TB gasket depending on whether you take that off or not.
