Default Oooh this one really worries me

As I backed out of my slightly inclined driveway this morning I noticed a small pool of clear liquid on the ground under my car. There were a few drip marks down the driveway as I pulled back. I jumped out to go check it and it smelled like fuel, and evaporated very quickly. Any guesses? What could cause it? *cringing*

Default Rusted fuel line?

maybe one of the banjo bolts on the fuel filter is leaking. Did you replace it lately?

Default Are you sure it was fuel and not just condensation from the accumulator?

If you're sure it's fuel, try looking around the fuel filter area. Has the fuel filter ever been replaced? (I replace mine at 50K mile intervals.)

The fuel system is pressurized (40 or 60 PSI? I can't remember.) If you have a leak, chances are likely it's spraying a mist. Not to be an alarmist, but if that's the case, that fuel is much more combustible than if it were just leaking out into a pool. I'd get it looked at immediately.

Would condensation from the accumulator smell like fuel?

Default Condensation wouldn't evaporate quickly unless the pavement was excessively hot

Like ~120* or hotter (compared to fuel).

Sorry to hear it, man. Hopefully you'll find the source soon.
