Default Plug wires. What's the general preference?

Bosch, STI, Magnacore, etc? And should they be changes with the same frequency as the TB?

Thanks

Default My OEM Bremi (STI) lasted over 120 k miles

At about $100, the Bremi wires seem the most reasonably priced. Hard to say how long they will last. 100 k miles should be do-able.

I'd stick with the Bremi (OEM) wires.

Default I've only had this car for a couple of months...

and it has 168k on the clock. Is there a way to tell if they are original?

Default Check three things:

1 See if visually is anything wrong like torn boots or bent wires.

2. In the dark, with the hood open and the engine running, spray water mist with an atomizer over the wires. If you see electricity arcing, your wires are hot.

3. Check resistance of the wires. 10-15k Ohm per foot is normal. Even if resistance is fine, the wire may still be damaged.

A new Bremi wire set is about $100.

Thanks. I'll try that. Mine say Beru on them. No telling when they were replaced.

Default OEM Bremis work well, Bosch Ultra Premium better, and Nology best, in my experience.

I really like my Nology Hot Wires, especially with all the mods I have on car. Nologys allow me to run leaner than OEM air/fuel ratios with no problems whenever I want.

Nology for those who have invested in highly modded engines!

If you have some mods and a moderate wallet, I would go with the Bosch Ultra Premiums--silicone-enclosed wires, OEM-style Beru boots, super long-lasting, very consistent, and reliable. Also, you may find them hard to locate as they differ from the Bosch Premiums which most vendors carry.

If you have few mods and a thin wallet, unquestionably go with the OEM Bremis.

John, do the Bosch Premium wires come in a set?
