Default Question about bored maf

I have read this forum long time, but i still have few questions about bored maf. I own 1992 audi 100 with 2.8l engine. It have hitachi mms200 ecu. Also i have skinny maf with 054 133 471a sensor on it. When i plug 054 sensor onto large bore maf does it affect anything at all. Do i need newer maf sensor for any performance?

Nothing said ...that the stock 4 wire sensor puts out. I looked into that, and I realized the voltage range was the exact same as the later models, the only difference was the CO pot signal. Further digging revealed the the CO pot actually has nothing to do with the MAF, it just shares a housing and a power source (a Jaguar website helped me realize that, some Jags use a similar MAF with CO pot.) It was all over at that point.

SO what,s the point of changing sensors, if signals are same. Is it going to work, if i just put 054 sensor to a bigger housing? Or is the question only abot co pot. The pot can be replaced by nothingś one!?

forget about replacing sensors and housing! You need a latter model MAF (i think it end on an A) you need to wire in a potentiometer in order for it to adjust you fuel mix.

you can bore out the larger body MAF and improve your flow.... that is the point of doing all of this... to improve flow

Actually i bored out my small maf housing. Inner diameter is 70 mm. And i have old 054 .. 471a maf on it. So i dont have to spend money. I dont have to mess with wiring. I just have to adjust the sensor so that the voltage will be same as before. I have to do some measurements.
