I have a 96 Audi a4 quattro, 2.8 afc engine. Ever since i changed the head gasket to the left head, I have been having sort of a rough start in the mornings. It will putter for a few seconds than start idling normal while warming up. I also noticed a delayed throttle response after coming to a stop and taking off again. Just a few days ago my check engine light came on throwing codes of p0301,p0302.p0300 (misfire cylinder 1,2, and random). I'm pretty sure it was the spark plugs because they were really worn, so i changed them right after seafoaming. Still having rough starts and the delayed throttle response. It feels like it is a vacuum leak. Anyone have anything similar?

You may need to double check your work to eliminate self induced issues. I had a somewhat similar throttle response because I failed to properly reinstall and secure the throttle cable. Also check all your vacuum lines for proper routing and condition - maybe even replace a portion of them. Check your reattachment of electrical connections, particularly MAF sensor. Double check spark plug cables. I accidentally mis-installed the left side once (in a hurry) but it REALLY misfires when that happens. Unbelieveably, it still ran, just not the greatest.

I'm in the process of going over everything right now. Another thing that comes to mind is the intake gasket. I know a break in the gasket would cause the car to start crappy until it gets a little warm, but what about the throttle response?

I went through all the hoses and cables, everything was fine. I took off the intake manifold, (together with the plenum) and found both of the gaskets had oil on it. There was a leak in the valley pan gasket and the vacuum was slightly sucking oil through the intake gasket making the leak visible.
