Control arm problem ...
in my opinion, without seeing/hearing the car. These are a known issue, that's why there is a recall.
My car had worn tie rod ends, which caused noticably wobbly steering but no noise - I replaced these, steering was much improved. A few weeks later I got the JE recall notice, went in, got new lower control arms, steering is like new.
My car is on it's third set of lower control arms (replaced twice, once as part of the current JE recall). The first time they needed replacement, the clue was the bushing end of the lower control arms squeaking. I believe that the current recall addresses the balljoint side of the control arm, but I do not know the details. Of course, the upper control arm could also be squeaking - they do wear out eventually - did the dealer look at them?
Did you inform the dealer that your car is squeaking? I would take it back to them or find a different dealer - you may have to contact Audi first, tell them your story.
