Default Yet another...

Bottom line; if you're looking these are EASY to find! Spend 2-3 minutes more and they're EASY to find AND half the price of TurboHoses.com

Now imagine if 5 people or 10 people from here invested the 10 minutes I just spent in looking for an appropriate elbow what one person might stumble upon price-wise! Boggles the mind don't it ;-)<ul><li><a href="http://intakehoses.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&amp;Category_Code=9DES2"> http://intakehoses.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&amp;Category_Code=9DES2</a</li></ul>

Default I hear ya Mance but I did buy a "tight radius" hose that wasn't tight enough unfortunately and...

I'm out $50 for the exercise. I look for a squared off appearance like on your original S3 hose kits and those are tough to find. Lots of softer radius hoses that won't clear the firewall as you stated already in the above posts. I'll keep lookin' though...

Default Can ya show me a picture of the one you bought? It may fit the B4 if not the C-chassis...

I mean there's no reason to just hoard it if won't work for you or for you to be "out" that money.

I'm sure if I was in a crunch or REALLY needed another like mine and REALLY dedicated myself to an earnest search I could probably find a workable elbow within a couple hours or half a day. Sure they are rare, but only when compared to a more gradual radius elbow. But that shouldn't mean extinct or non-existant.

Additionally you can gauge VERY closely if an elbow's minor radius will fit your application. All ya have to know is how much distance you have between firewall and throttle body. By using that and the picture I provided above you have all the measurements and formulas necessary to know what will fit just by using those formulas with any elbow picture online before purchasing.

Default If you like/prefer the TurboHoses offering here's a similar elbow for $25 less

at the link below.

If you'd like the name of the outfit that manufactures the tight radius elbow that TurboHoses.com sells its listed below:

Belair Composites and their site is: http://www.belaircomposites.com/connectors.htm

(notice that Belair manufactures and Turbohoses.com sells the IDENTICAL 3" 90 degree "2-ply, .110" wall thickness, fiberglas reinforced" elbow. Coincidence? Trust me, NO!)

I would also "recommend" only one person from here call Belair Composites and report back to everyone. If they get a rash of calls from people here asking about the identical component they're gonna KNOW something's up! Belair hides their site VERY well from the masses, preferring instead to deal with dealers/distributors only. You can find them online but they don't make it easy!

Their phone number is on their site and under "contacts" you can get with their sales guy. I don't know that they will sell "retail" or only 1 of anything but I would not mention you know they sell to TurboHoses.com or risk them telling you purchase there. Instead, if they don't want to bother with small order retail sales I'd inquire about other retailers they sell to that "may" sell for less.

And please be discreet about where you got this information!<ul><li><a href="http://www.optionimports.com/si90el.html">http://www.optionimports.com/si90el.html</a</li></ul>

Default can ya show me a picture as their site doesn't have the correct angle...

when we have such tight limitations we shouldn't buy ANYTHING elbow-wise if we can't see the minor radius and do the math like I did in my original post.

Default Here it is...

<img src="http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee127/islingtonboy/IMG_9754.jpg">

I need about 7 1/2" from the "back wall" to the recovery sleeve where it clamps down if that makes sense. I want to maintain my Samco elbow and need the same length as the Cobra Head elbow in that regard. The ones from Bel-air I'm not sure how long the legs are, don't look that long. They are nice and squared off.
The one nice thing about the Boost Controller hoses is their 10" legs, one could almost go to the MAF with what they give you on a B5 car.

Default That's not a Belair hose as they only make 2ply, .110" wall thickness elbows...

and all Belair products are same color ID/OD. I have no idea where Boost Controller sources their hose. A Belair elbow has only a 3.22" OD with a 3.00"ID while your elbo appears to be exactly a 4" OD with a 3" ID. I suspect some of that wall thickness to be taking up precious real estate... over 3/4 of an inch that if not precluding a good fit is at least contributing to the lack of it!

Also I think many/most here are going for something closer to what the original "S3 hose kit" was which is two identical 90 degree tight radius elbows and a 10" or 11" straight whereas you want something custom and made specifically for a particular setup you have that involves a 90 and a 45. I can't be much help there as I can't replicate what you have going in my garage either hose-wise or chassis-wise. And any time you branch out on your own that way it will always involve R&amp;D trial/error. If you can do it without having to buy extra parts that end up not working you're a better man than I am Charlie Brown. I probably spent over $500 in silicone elbows from various manufacturers I ruined by over-trimming or with too large a minor radius that I'll never use just coming up with the 3 silicone sections that made up the functional S3 hose kit. When omellette is on the menu ya gotta buy and break a few eggs!

Default Yup, it's not a Belair hose. I did speak to Belair, nice folks and their hoses have short legs so...

I'd need to get a longer 45 elbow to make it all work, not sure I want to give up my Samco so I'll think on it...
