what is the ohm value for the spark plug wires on a 12V.....

If not then you have to put it on 200K ohm because 5K ohm is out of range for the 0-2k ohm setting. If it's digital it should read about 5 in its K-ohm scale. If its analog then you have to read from the K-ohm scale and look at the increments. Half way up is 100K and probably marked so, 1/4 way up is 50K and so on. I probably can't help much more than the manual.

The cable alone makes 1 kOhm.
At the end of the cable the connector to place the spark plug alone makes 5 kOhm.
If you measure interior of the connector to the other end of the cable , that made 1 kOhm + 5 kOhm = 6 kOhm.
