Hi SMac770 I use that as example to my post on audizine, some guys defending AofA warranty and saying everything would be milk and honey if I just hand installed at Audi dealership https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...6#post15019956
Anyone notice how the meddle of piston is washed out, and at the edge of that washed is spot where piston crown is bulged, could this be stuck fuel injector that damaged the piston?

new finding the engine that my mechanic installed may be not the engine I bought from Audi, the part number on engine block is 06H103021L. I order the 06H100036C
also the Engine Code on the block is removed
the sticker on front cover is RR4 engine code, that code is not on latest version of repair manual

Audi Dealer Parts Manger is saying this "it was not scraped off. It was never impact printed on the engine. The circular overlapping milling marks on that serial number surface are still visible. Nobody removed it, it was never printed during manufacturing. Same for the heads I bought new from Audi years ago. The spot for the code was never printed. The why is unknown but each manufacturing step costs money. So, cheap is always a possible explanation particularly if the barcode serves all needs during assembly.
Your engine is not the same as others as yours was not made for installation in a new vehicle on an assembly line. Your engine followed a different process sequence. The serial number might only be printed on engines headed to vehicle assembly."
Is the above piston #3 ??
The earlier boroscope pictures (post #25) of piston #3 showed indents on the crown from what I think was a spark plug terminal. Also that crown shows edge deformation opposite the valve recesses.
The above video shows a piston without any indents on the crown, and there is no edge deformation opposite from the valve recesses. The broken lower ring land is right above the wrist-pin, which is the 90 degrees away from the valve recesses. This looks like classic LSPI damage.
That is not the same piston compared to the boroscope pictures...?????????????

It is piston from cylinder 3, you see the damage, but just the way the some of the carbon that was washed out gives illusion that crowns is deformed
The p/n for a long block is for a complete assembly of many parts. The p/n stamped on a crankcase is for the crankcase; you didn't buy a crankcase, you bought a long block. You're not going to find 036 C anywhere on that engine, only in a catalog page. Yeah, it looks like no stamping ever for the engine serial on the block. The stamping is pretty deep; it'd be obvious relative to the rest of the flat that it had been ground down. As for the piston stuff, outside my wheelhouse. But damn, something jacked that piston.
