Hi all,
I own a 2011 audi a5 with a misfire that will not go away regardless of what gets done. The misfire is most prevalent when cold, and is better when the engine is warm but still there. The code reads p0301, so a cylinder 1 misfire. Pulled the plug (which only have 4,000 miles on them) and cyl one has a white tip which I took as running too lean. Here's what's been done so far:
- new coil packs
- new injectors (all 4)
- new PCV valve plus both breather hoses
It's worth noting the hpfp was replaced about 4 months ago. It is indeed off-brand, but there doesn't seem to be any hpfp related problems...
It is also worth noting that acceleration seems a bit messed up. When accelerating, right before the transmission shifts gears, the RPM's 'stutter' and drop slightly and then the transmission shifts...this is most prevalent under harder acceleration
I am planning on cleaning the MAF and possibly replacing the diverter valve as those are relatively inexpensive and easy. I really believed it to be the PCV valve but so far that hasn't proven to be the problem. I haven't found much searching around other forums so I thought I'd make a post and see if anyone has any input.
