Hi. I have a 2015 Audi Q3. After a water pump replacement, the engine light came on and the problem code was for multiple misfires. The car shakes when it first starts and is idling. I changed all the spark plugs and it hasn't helped the idling problem, although the drive is better. I notice that there is some hard deposits on all of the ignition coils as in the pictures. Anyone know what the deposit is (engine oil)? And if it is the ignition coils causing the idling problems? Thanks.
Coils on these cars are common point of failure. If you have another Audi or VW or have a friend with one you could swap the coils just to see if your problem goes away. If it does, go buy a set of coils. Same thing happened to my brothers A4, he pulled into my driveway with the thing idling horribly, I swapped the coils from my GTI and it ran perfectly. Lucky for him I had a spare set of coils. I tracked my car and they fail often enough that I keep a set on hand.
Your plugs look great in terms of color. I hope you gapped the new ones. .32 is OEM and if you happen to have the car chipped then .28. The gap on your plugs looks big in the pictures. They wear and the gap increases over time. If it gets too wide it can also cause misfires.
