Default Q5 Remove Firewall?

Hey, I'm replacing the engine in a 2015 Q5 with the help of Naptown Tuner videos. In the video, he's removing the engine in a different model, and takes out the firewall, which is held in place by a few easily accessible bolts. I'm having trouble finding how the Q5 firewall is secured to the car. It looks like there might be enough clearance to pull the engine without removing the firewall at all. What do you think?

If the firewall does have to come out, can anyone advice on the process?

Thoughts?

While we're at it, this is a much bigger repair job than I've ever attempted on any vehicle before. Feel free to point out the dumb rookie mistakes that I'm about to make.

Thanks.

Called the plenum chamber wall, not the firewall. The firewall is between the engine bay and the passenger cabin; you're not removing that without tearing the car in half. The plenum chamber is the bay at the back of the engine bay where the windshield washer fluid fill is, the brake fluid reservoir is, where the battery was in prior product generations (before Q5 was a thing).

An MY15 Q5 is a B8.5 Q5, part of the B8 Q5 era aka Mk1 Q5. We're to assume 2.0T given the forum? Still, you'll probably find more eye traffic relevant to the B8 Q5 2.0T in that model forum than here. I assume you're trying to remove the engine without just removing the front clip? The normal approach I imagine would be to remove the front bumper and just take the thing out forward. Lay the A/C condenser over the fender; should be videos out there of doing such, at least in a B8 A4 and A5.

You will really want to have the workshop manuals from Audi for stuff of this level as well. erwin.audiusa.com, pay for a day, get all the PDFs for your VIN. The plenum chamber sections is likely to be in Body - Exterior rather than the engine manual.
