2004 a6 2.7t ECT Sensor help...
Hello all!
I have a 2004 a6, with 45,000 miles on it. I recently started getting a check engine light (cel), so I popped a code scanner on, and it showed a
p3081, which pointed to a mass air flow sensor (MAF). I replaced it, then went back to the auto parts store to borrow the scanner and clear the cel. It came up with another code, this time a p0118, which points me to the engine coolant temp (ect) sensor. I got my hands on a new one, as well as the o-ring, and a new plastic clip.
On this car with this engine, it is NOT that easy to get to. I was finally able to wrestle the old one off, and put the new one in. Problem is, that it never felt like it seated 100%. I did the best I could, then put the clip in place, and connected the wire. Took it for a drive, and guess what: leaking coolant. I am at wits end with this thing. I did everything I could do, it really seems to be in place as good as it will go, and I still have issues.
Needless to say, I need to fix it, or it will be stuck in my driveway. Any advice, or calming words? I dont wanna continue being angry with my car while I have tools in hand - but I cant seem to seat it any better. maybe a second o-ring? UUGGHH
Thanks...
