Default Diagnosing 17547;17545 faults

When I fill my tank the CEL shuts off then comes on eventually. An Indi shop just pulled these codes for me and reset the faults. CEL has been off for 2 days now. If the CEL comes on again with these faults how should I go about isolating the problem?

2 Faults Found:
17547 - Fuel Trim: Bank 2 (Add) : System too Rich P1139 - 35 -00 - -

17545 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Add): System too Rich P1137 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
Readiness: 0000 0000

Thanks,Adrian

Default Something's causing your system to run rich, obviously.

Did no other codes come up, like O2 or EGT codes? You need to VAGCOM it again.

Default Crossing fingers is well known cause of CEL's. That is why all Audi's give their.....

owners a present sooner or later - a CEL.

I think your fault could be related to the fuel tank filler cap or a leak in the venting of the tank. I know it sounds implausable but there is supposed to be a partial vacuum in the tank when running to stop any un-burnt HC's getting into the atmosphere.

I think you may find more by searching on the C5 A6 forum.
