How do you tell which engine model number you have?

Default There is a 3 letter code in your owner's manual. Inside front cover, IIRC. Just below the VIN

there are spots for engine and tranny codes. Also look in the s4wiki (do Google search but it may simply be s4wiki.com) and they have a table that shows the various model years and the engine codes.

Default Build date after 9/00 (this is for the S4, not 100% sure about the 2.7t in the Allroad).

Might want to search on the allroad forum for better details on that. s4wiki.com has details for the S4 engine generations.
