Hey guys,
I am about to take possession of a 2000 A6 2.7T 6-speed. The car has been in my family since 55k miles, and it now has around 200k, give or take. The subframe just recently broke near one of the control arms (rust). I have ordered a new (used) subframe from Arizona, and I also plan to order new downpipes and midpipes from ebay.
I believe the turbos are likely original, which, I am learning, is a big deal. I have read that the engine needs to come out in order to replace them. What I am wondering is this: With the subframe and exhaust removed, is it possible to R&R the turbos like this? Or does the engine really need to come all the way out of the car?
Thanks,
Matt
