I was surprised to find that the early Q7 models didnt feature this LED ambient lighting from the start. Especially since it's base dof the A6 which had this standard from the beginning of the model release. Nice pics...Def a mod that I would consider if and when I get this truck.

Does anyone know if the pre-facelift can allow this mod to be tapped into a module that was pre-wired in the door for this? Obviously would want to control the light via MMI.

I bet it won't. I too noticed this on the '09 A6 and '10 Q7 loaners I have recently had. I think this would cost $$$ to retrofit to an 07-09 Q7.

What year is your Q? S-Line right? The lighting looks the same as my 2011. I would be too embarassed to post mine. In the states we cannot get the Alcantara and again... those seats!

A few guys have added the lighting to the doors on pre-2010 Q7's... the parts are not expensive (about $150-$200 for all 4 doors.) You do have to take apart the door to add it.. but it plugs right in to the exisitng wiring. My wife listed this as a "must have" mod for her Q7... just haven't ordered up the parts yet.

Time for someone (not me) to do a DIY on a pre-facelift Q. I'll be standing in line for the parts when that happens.

IT's already been done (i actually think some of the photo's above are from a pre-facelift where the guy added them. He said it wasn't difficult...but you do have to take the door apart (which is not all that hard to do either.) I am going to add them... give me a month or two... a have a bunch of parts laying around that i need to put on my Q7 before i order any more!
