Update MMI 3360 To 4610 Successfully With 4F0998961 CD2
Hello all,
I decided to update 3360 to 4610 using only CD2 because my bluetooth phone is working fine. Here is how I did mine. Yes, the Instrument cluster option was removed, enable hidden menu and turn it back on. Everything is there and working now. It took less than 30 minutes for this update.
Enable hidden menu and turn on the instrument cluster
Cheers,
Louis

yes, it's there... The econ and stuff...
I think if you get the instrument cluster/speed warning option back, which means turn on "bordcomputer", everything should work.
Good luck,
Louis

This option is eliminated once updating to a newer MMI version. Only way to disable it is through VCDS, but no longer can have the TPMS option. This was a very rare option and I only heard of a few members who had it, generally when they did, their MMI was an early version.

SnapDragon has the link to download if you know what you're doing!!!
Many dealers have no ideas about these CDs, they're not official, I called the dealer here in Palo Alto about updating my 06, they asked for the VIN and they said 1190 is designed for my year and car, they won't do anything software wise. Now, people tell you to buy "official" CDs from Ebay? Nice!!!
So, everything people are doing up here is "OFF the records" as they say, do it at your own risks. Therefore, there are no officials CDs, get wherever you can and do with them with your own risks again.
My 08 Q7 has back up camera and the software version is 4140, dealer will not update to 4610 (liability of course).
Regardless of where you get the CDs from, I don't trust any CDs, even with officially looking logos on them, I would use Imgburn (google it), make an iso, then burn it back to blank cds with "verify" box checked and speed of 2x-4x max.
There is nothing a sure thing, just be careful. It's not how expensive/inexpensive they are, non of them are officials and you don't know where they come from. Again, do it with your own risks. I did it, because I need to add AMI and Back Up camera, if not, I wouldn't touch anything that's not official. Again, being "official" is also a "relative" word.
Cheers and good luck,
Louis

CD's are very much official and update covered by Audi documentation. Some dealers have their own policy about this but that doesn't make them right. Updates are there because they cleared some bugs, adopted some low changes and enabled new phones to be properly connected.
You can buy CD's here. Part number: 4F0 998 961
Attached is PDF instruction.
