Default If you have "5V" on the engine covers you have a 30V motor

the major difference between the 12V and 30V was the change to dual cams in each head and the associated cam chains.

If it's a car you're going to keep more than 30k miles you'll want to buy a real water pump from the dealer or genuinevwaudiparts.com The aftermarket pumps often leak after 25-30k miles.

I helped a friend install the gasket kit you've linked. It was a good deal and seemed to be good parts.

Default Do the cam adjuster seals too.

And if you are doing cam seals (4), do the cam plugs (2) and consider doing the timing belt.

The enhanced kit includes the hydraulic TB damper. You need to replace that while you're at it.

the parts came yesterday. im being told now that he doesnt have the tools? 17 to be exact? i wasnt stressed before, but now im worried? does he need all these tools that the instructions say? My cousin says shouldnt need all of them and hes got 15-20 years in the industry. I just want my car fixed. Maybe buying the car in this condition really wasnt a great idea after all.
