After replacing timing belt, tensioner and pulleys I get fault code p1519 (camshaft contr. bank1 malfunction}. No other codes. The engine seems to run fine. I used the cam lock tool and locked the crank per the repair manual. Before removing the old belt, I noted that the bank 1 sprocket was retarded about 20 degrees.ie the cam lock tool wouldn't line up. So to be safe,I removed both valve covers and checked to see if cams were aligned correctly after I retimed it,which they appeared to be correct with 16 chain links between marks on cams. Replaced valve cover gasgets. Checked resistance of valve N-205 at 10 ohms. The top of the tensioner looked fine. can't see the bottom. Am concerned that I will cause engine damage if I continue to run it. Any suggestions would be aqppreciated.
thanks,
Bob

Well, its the camshaft adjuster thats having the problem. It is plugged in right? wires wernt damaged? It might have just failed, it does happen. I dont think anything timing related is whats going on here. Its the camshaft adjuster or chain tensioner itself having the issue.
