Is there any resource where I can borrow the tools, or if needed, buy them?

Default Many of us lend our tools to local AW folks. Some go as far as to

send them around the country for a small 'wear and tear fee'. You'd be welcome to use mine if you're in the SLC area.

fwiw, I picked up my tools over time by watching eBay, Craigslist, AudiFans, etc. And it's possible to make your own if you have even the most basic fabrication equipment, esp if you have a borrowed set for a pattern.

Hi Dave,
Thank you so much for the kind offer. I live in Maine ----- bit of course UPS is cheap enough. I'll see how things pan out. BlauHaus rents the timing service tools for $35, and I have contacted the initial place I bought the kit to cancel the purchase..... also BlauHaus dropped their price this week by $100. So if they cancel my orer, I'll rent them. I have a small metal mill/lathe, so can theoretically make anything.... stress theory!

I was in SLC last year, loved it.

You might check the regional forum section here to see if anyone close to you is willing to loan or rent them out. One negative if you have to ship the tools is that they are somewhat weighty. Hopefully someone close to you has a set. If you want to purchase them, I put a link below to a source that I've used over the years. Default Re: Timing Belt Job DONE

I ordered the Blau enhanced kit, and rented the tools. It all worked perfectly, took me 9 hours including all my small errors and eye to doing it right. I replaced everything in there. Blau was GREAT and the instructions were way better than Bentley and Haynes put together. I have made some comments to them about added instructions. I called them twice for hand holding and they got right back to me. Thank you guy for your help too.

Default Radiator? I just did mine about a month ago but didn't bother with...

the radiator. Took me about 5 hours plus cleanup time. Works perfectly. Also bought the blau-kit. Didn't use the cam-lock bar myself but I've done alot of timing belt jobs and really wasn't worried about it.

So are these cars known for clogged radiators?

Hi Dave,

Hope you could still see this reply to the old thread. I have been searching arount the forums to find someone who carries the timing belt tools, and finally found you. I wonder if you could rent the timing belt to me. I am planing to replace the timing belt in my A4 V6 3.0.

Thanks,
Ben
