I have an Audi A4 2003 Quattro 3.0
For the past couple of months I am having my engine light on for Random misfire and misfire in all of the cylinders as well as a code for the torque converter in the transmission. I changed the spark plugs and the coils but the code for the misfire did not go away. after showing it to the mechanic and a lot of research now I am pretty sure that that the problem is the hydraulic lifters that is giving me the misfire. (the sound and other symptoms).
Now my question is that can the transmission code be there because of this misfire?
The following are the reasons that make me think that way:
1- After resetting the codes, the transmission light comes on exactly at the same time with the misfire codes. All these codes come on after driving like 50 Km . I tried it twice and they both came on at the same time.
2- The transmission shifts perfectly smooth and after a diagnostic test, they told me that nothing seems wrong in the tyranny and the torque converter is not faulty.
