What other mods can I do to get more horsepower out of the 2.8L 30V

I bought it from.... someone on here damn I forgot who it was now. anyways. Yea it does make a good amount of difference. I dont know how in the hell that velocity stack sits on there but I am just running the MAF and it works good. i also have a CAI and GIAC chip to complement it.

Check the letter code on your MAF housing. It's located on the passenger side, north of the airbox. It's a Hitachi unit most likely. What you want to look for is a sequence that has 471 followed by a letter.
1. If it's an E...stop reading and go directly to pes-tuning.com to purchase a G2.
2. If it's a C...you might want to search the archives for the MAF mod or contact Lance to learn more about your options. He used to have a website.
Based on production year you listed, I am betting you have a C MAF and that means you can do the MAF mod without having to worry about CELs.
I was not as fortunate and before my G2 purchase, I descreened a second MAF and bought a velocity stack from Lance. There was a difference but nothing significant.

They make chips. Bang for buck is a little low, but not a whole lot of options with the 2.8 30v. I got it used for like 100 bucks so to me it was way worth it.
I have one, I can't remember the brand now. APR maybe?
again.. not a huge crazy difference, it smoothed out the flat spots and removes any governors.
I have had it in for several years now and no problems at all.

I'm considering it. If decided, I'll buy this week. I've got a '98 A6 2.8L. Has 105K on it. What are the actuals in terms of gains that you've seen in HP and TQ? What about mileage?
Also, what issues did you have with installation? Was it a DIY, or did you have a shop do it for you? And ho long did it take?
Just curious before I part with my $5K, yo. :-)
