Default 2013 allroad oil level shows no info on oil level

After owning a 2013 Allroad for almost four years I finally changed the oil myself for the first time. I've had an independent shop do it until now.
After changing the oil I started the car and reset the oil change interval. I then scrolled to "oil level" to see if it showed the oil was full. Instead, the screen read "Information on oil level is not available".
How do I get the system to show the oil level now? Thanks

Every time the hood is opened, it resets the oil monitoring/reporting system. You've probably got to drive 50 miles or so before it can re-measure the oil level and display it for you.

To force on on demand static reading, you need the engine up to temp. Then turn the engine off. Then open and then close the door. Turn the ignition on (ignition only, do not start the engine). Go to the oil level display and wait.

Waiting for the dynamic reading can take many miles.

Guys, these recommendations about opening-closing the hood, warming up the engine - they apply to all cars in principle, right?

No idea how another manufacturer handles oil readings. I speak only to that specific to the Audi vehicle in question. The OP has a B8 allroad with an EA888 engine. The answer will be the same for all B8 with an EA888 engine, be it an A4, A5, Q5, etc. And probably the same for all FSI engines in MLB and MLBevo chassis. I can't presume if TDI operate the same; possible, but I have no reason to blindly believe.
