Default 2014-2015 Allroad purchase

Currently looking for 2014-2015 Allroads with 100k + miles. I'm aware of tensioner, chain replacement and either baking cost into purchase price or looking for cars with repair done. Found a '14 with 125k that's had water pump, both axles and bearings, trans and differential fluid change, brakes.Currently priced to reflect needed chain, tensioner and guide repair (quoted $2650). Is the oil consumption issue universal to all the 4 cylinders ? TIA

I am learning yes on the oil consumption. I thought I was safe with a 2015 but noooo

That said, I am treating with Techron and increased OCI. From what I've heard and read it is possible to recover. Certainly do short 3K to 5K OCI's on whatever you get.

I have a 2015 Allroad, with 83k miles on the clock, i have had zero oil consumption issues. Change my oil every 4k miles, 4.5 quarts comes out, 5 goes in.
I am rebuilding the engine as we speak due to piston number one breaking just above the rod pin, and all 3 rings snapping into pieces. Piston #2 also had a good size chunk missing above the rod pin, but without any damage to rings. Oil rings were not gummed up on any of the pistons. Certain 2015 engines got the waffle oil ring which does not have oil consumption issues, and mine had those waffle oil rings.
Have a few theories on what happened, but nothing concrete, as to why the pistons broke.
