2012 Audi A4
This happens once in a while and lasts a whole car trip. Normally works next time I’m in the car.
Things I’ve noticed:
only FM appears in BAND
presets can access XM, AM. Clicking Radio only swaps between FM & AM.
XM stations don’t show song/artists but don’t say “linking”
i can tune, change stations, that all works normally.
under Sound, Balance, Treble, everything is pegged left. The only controls that move when clicked into are those related to navigation audio and voice commands. All other controls will not move or select other options when scrolling.
again, navigation audio works perfectly.

I have tried the soft off (click & hold volume button) I’ve tried the 3-button reset, and turning off the car & electrics for 20-60sec. These don’t clear the issue.
however in 7-8 hrs when I leave work, I fully expect it will work as normal, and I won’t see this issue again for a month or so.

Potentially Unrelated: I’ve had a Linking issue with the XM for the last 2 months that randomly (mostly) cleared about 2 weeks ago. XM just won’t find the satellite or delinks quickly when it does. XM is always kind of sketchy in Phoenix where driving past the odd store or corner will block signal (open skies no tall buildings or trees, it’s a broadcasting jamming that is occurring). But this is total black out for miles of open highway. Anyway, possibly unrelated and like I said it seems like it’s self-resolved.
