2018 AllRoad - Surprising fuel economy
Hello all-
Have been driving my 2018 AllRoad for 5 months now and carefully tracked the gas mileage.
Surprisingly, I'm getting as much as 35-36 MPG on the straight and level (when I keep it under 65 and when by myself). If I'm at higher speed on the highway, it's about 33 MPG if I keep it under 75.
These are actual, measured, miles per gallon, not the Audi indicated ones which are higher (this is Audi, after all!)
I was a little surprised at these numbers, esp when comparing them to my 2016 Q3, which gets significantly less. I guess it's the new transmission design?

you're not alone, they are significantly under rated. I've had multiple clients this year give me the same feedback, which is pretty awesome. It's such an under rated, underappreciated vehicle. Wish they marketed it more.

Underrated and under appreciated only by non-owners. Best car I ever owned.

Yes. The 2.0 TFSI is a wonderful engine. My cousin and I drove my A4 and SQ5 together and we were keeping up with each other for 1.5 hrs till we reached our destination. Same road. Same style of driving. My A4 returned 29.8 MPG whereas my SQ5 returned 18.9. And yet he said he had a hard time keeping up with my A4. Go figure.
Edit: I’m not surprised at all that people get 35-36 because the best actual MPG I’ve gotten was 32.5 and that was with a mix of mainly highway and city thrown in and I was doing an average speed of around 79mph on the highway (sometimes a bit more when I had to overtake) and still managed that efficiency. My A7 on a similar drive returned 25MPG.

I get the 35-36 mpg thing, but 41 mpg? I'm not doubting the person who claims that, just that I find that very surprising.

with the switch to the winter fuel blend, my most recent tank of Shell V Power is averaging me 26.9. Yikes... i haven't adjusted my driving habits though- shifting between 2700-3000 rpm and going 75-85 on my 15 minute work commute. I keep her in Dynamic 98% of the time.

For the last 15K miles my average is 27.2 MPG
