I drove from Little Rock to Dallas in August (summer heat) going 80 in comfort mode, and the total distance to my sisters house is shortly before my gas light comes on. I managed to average 38 mpg on the drive down and 41 mpg on the drive back.

I got about 33 MPG over two tanks from Astoria, Oregon to Berkeley, California, averaging about 75 mph. That was a very pleasant surprise. This is a great road trip vehicle.

Maiden voyage, 300 miles on car with 38k miles on odo, Avg 74mph, 34.5 MPG. Did some stretches over 95mph. No idle traffic issues. Played with all the buttons. Mostly auto and dynamic
My B8 Allroad did far worse. WIth each software “Upgrade” thru the Volkswagen Diesel s scandal it did get worse. While we had a petro car. As it went for service they would do software “upgrades” and remap transmission “for smoother shifting”. I suspected it was to change what they needed to.
This car even with hits DCT is very smooth. The engine note is quiet but at least it does not have that 4 cyl sound that is not attractive. I’m sure the mod squad would rather it should “bigger”. We did not buy this car and transform it to a wannabe S4. We bought this because if we got a Q5 this is what we would have “Modded” ot to be. Lower, more car like and quieter. The modern miracle of pressing a button to “Dynamic” does enough to to satisfy our tastes. We love the grand touring ability of this car.
The economy of its MPG has been a pleasant suprise.

I get 32-34 mpg on the highway at 77 mph indicated/75mph actual, depends on weather conditions, direction of travel. At 65mph I get as high as 37.5. At 55mph I have seen 39mpg. Its a very fuel efficient powertrain at speeds of 75mph and under. IME above 75mph fuel consumption increases. At 85mph I would expect to get barely 30mpg.
