and it's a beauty: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a2...t-photos-info/

Lots of great videos of the debut on youtube. Shame I can't afford this.

I was hoping for the A6 Avant or A6 Allroad. Those I could afford.

Canada is getting the A6 Allroad so the rumor is America might be getting that as well.

So would the A6 allroad/RS6 Avant combo mean no A4 allroad in 2020 for the US?

I doubt it -- it's the new "Keep your old car" incentive from Audi.

No reason to think that is the case. Audi change the name from "Allroad" to "A4 allroad" for a reason... they were planning for an eventuality that will see A4 and A6 allroad in the showroom at the same time, hence the name change. Prior to 2018, the car known as A4 allroad in the rest of the world was simply known as Allroad in the US (no "A4" in the model designation).

The delay for 2020 model has to do with the entire A4 line getting an update so there is a production delay for US spec cars. It's been a problem for a while... basically Audi of America cannot chew gum and walk at the same time. They have a lot of trouble getting cars certified for sale in the US. e.g. Audi dealers have been without Q3 for almost a year

And A6 allroad is definitely coming to the US. Dealers already have order guides. 2020 A4 allroad will be available for order when Audi opens the order book for A4... whenever that is.

Can't say I'm sad to see the A6 allroad coming to Canada. It's what I was looking for in the first place realistically speaking, but if it shows up without a towing hitch like the A4 allroad did I'm going to be mildly disappointed and unlikely to purchase one

Grew tired of waiting for Audi to bring either the RS4 Avant or A6 Avant/Allroad stateside so decided to order a 2020 Porsche Macan S (w. tow hitch!). Have enjoyed my allroad but looking forward to driving something new with better driving dynamics and more horsepower.

I came from a 2016 Macan S to 2017 A4 then to the 2017 Allroad. I miss the ballyness of the Macan but I still love the nimbleness of the AR. I will be interested in hearing your evaluation of the Macan. Definitely a step up and a totally different ride.

FWIW, I had the dealer install an "Invisihitch" for my allroad... really nicely put together. I'll only use it for bikes and such but it's really solidly built, the dealer even said it was the best hitch install they've seen/done and you really can't see it unless it's on.
