So what's the point really? also feels like a failed opportunity to have remote start for people like me who live in the great white north.
I can unlock the doors at a distance but I can't start the car to heat it up, really feels like an afterthought.

will they add that in the future you think?

They might. But if you want to know the bitter truth about the app, it’s there to send data about you and your car and your driving habits etc to the mother ship. They track it and they sell the data for spare change. They have engineered the app to assist in the handshake between your phone and the MMI but just as often it seems it’s a hindrance.

Be careful what you wish for regarding additional functionality from the myAudi app. I also have an e-tron. For that vehicle, remote climate control is enabled in the app. You can also set the vehicle's target state of charge and check on its current SOC. There are some other functions, but those are the most useful. Unfortunately, Audi's software implementation is so bad that the app frequently fails to establish a connection with the vehicle. In my experience, that usually happens on a winter night just as you're finishing dinner and want to warm up the vehicle before you drive home.

it's a scary world we live in. privacy as we used to know back up to the 2000's I'd say is gone. man I miss the good ol' analog days.
