Is it normal for the car to take forever to heat up?
Hi - this is my first winter with my brand-new-to-me A4 Allroad Prestige. I love it of course. One thing I've noticed though is that it takes FOREVER for heat to become hot after I start the car. At least a good 10-15 minutes of solid driving at a normal RPM (like 2.5-3). Is this just because it's an efficient engine, or is mine just weird? Is there some special feature I'm missing that rapidly heats the vent air?
I figured I'd check here with you all before I just lived with it.

On the contrary here. On cold mornings, (10-20° F) I remark at how quickly warm air comes through the middle vents. We have the cold weather package - but not sure if that matters. What year is your Allroad? Seems a little early for this gen to develop heater core issues.

Thanks man! I thought it was a little weird. I'm still under warranty so I'll get it checked out. Mine is a 2017 that is just shy of 40k miles.

Does it have an aftermarket intercooler? What is your commute like? Are you quick to get on the highway? Your right foot is what will get the temps up. Its just a balance of waiting for the oil to warm up and beating on it.
