Default Tire pressure in Allroad

Confusing, the door says 36 all around. I get it - fully loaded. Many cars say higher pressures in the front lower on the rears. The manual says the opposite lower pressure in the front, higher in the back. What pressures are you guys running?

Hmm, my door sticker says 35psi cold so that's what I run.

My manual says 35psi for full load and 32psi for normal load but I just leave it at 35. I suspect--but have not tested--that the handling will be a little crisper with the higher pressures.

The door sticker will be your fully loaded. The owners manual is the one Audi recommends to go by. Years back they changed from posting the partial and full load on the door sticker.

Yeah, for cars sold into the USA market, the door jamb sticker is for a FULLY LOADED car. 5 people and a trunk full of suit cases.

Audi is very good about providing NORMAL inflation characteristics to be found in the Owner's Manual of each vehicle.

Bob, I don't know why they'd bias the pressure toward the rear in your new car. Here's the European sticker for our 2006 wagon:

Quattro ultra is likely the culprit for the wheel pressure bias.

Wow! 49psi is up into truck territory. Must be a pretty rough ride. the 2006 was an A6, right? The manual for my US model 2107 A4 allroad does show equal pressures front and rear (my tires marked in green).

Yeah, I think you fly with the Audi recommendation and adjust up slightly based upon your local road conditions.

Dan, our 2006 is a C6 version. We've only got the OE 17" wheels and a 16" set for winter. The XL rated tires we are supposed to use do have a harsh characteristic to them. Our local roads are not nice. I typically keep the front at 35psi and the rears at 32 or so psi. I'll add air if we're on a road trip with the car.
