As I continue to have pinging problems with my 1998.5 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro 5-speed with the APR chip, Jeremy at APR suggested I have my engine "BG Cleaned". He said a BG clean is when the dealer pumps fluid through the engine to get rid of sludge and carbon built-up. Has anyone tried this? Please let me know if this is a good investment to do to my engine. My car has 44K miles on it.

I know someone who swears by the Bilstein engine flush. Has it done to his Volvo yearly.

I'm putting my car on a cleaning regimen (see below).
Audi recommends the Wynn's VIC system and it's ZVW 239 003 additive. There are a few TSBs on this.
I've heard that pressurized system cleaners are the best, e.g. Wynn's and BG. For pour-in-the tank cleaning, Techron, and Audi ZVW 239 003 are recommended by Audi.
I have an old Audi/VW TB which says to use 3 6.5 oz bottles of ZVW 239 003 for each of 3 consecutive fill-ups to remove deposits. Remember to change your oil.
