Default "Service INSP" flashing?

Recently passed 60k on my 98 A4 1.8t, and now whenever I start up the car, the service indicator comes on (in the odometer display) with "INSP" flashing for a few minutes.

I assume this means inspection, but is this triggered by some mileage being reached? Or does this indicate that there's some problem?

Thanks,
-Neil.

Default Mine did that too and I disabled it. I figured since it goes off after 60 seconds it can't be to

serious. Hope I'm not wrong :P

Strictly a mileage issue.

Default Did you do it per the tech section or did you use a vag?.......

I tried it the manual way but didn't work this time. Worked whenever it says "service", but for some reason not when it said "Insp"
