Way too **** about it - "secret techniques" - LOL
I do agree that people waste way too much gas speeding between stop signs and red lights. That's just stupid when you can see that you'll need to stop ahead. You see a light turn red, you get off the gas. Idling at stop lights when you don't need the A/C or heat I can see not doing, too, assuming you have time to restart the car and not disrupt traffic around you. That's important - not disrupting the flow for your own needs. Traffic is bad enough already.

First of all....I don't believe he's getting those numbers. 2nd....he HAS to be driving
in "hyper" controlled conditions....i.e., he's not stuck in traffic like the rest of us. I think if you're extremely **** about it, yes you can improve your gas mileage a bit but the thought of an average of even 35 m.p.g. from a six cylinder awd Audi or 40 m.p.g. from the 1.8t is just dreaming.

i cant find the link to back this up but i've seen this report on local news
but idling at stop lights eats more gas. Surprising, starting the car does not take more fuel than letting it sit idle. I guess that makes sense since the only thing used to crank an engine is the battery.

I have a Nissan Armada LE and when I drive city I get around 5-6 mpg. But its worth it.
The epa estimated 15 in the city, I only get that if I concentrate on driving the truck extra silky smooth. My a4 gets 15 city when I like to get performance, and thats why I drive it more.
