$1000.00 to paint the hood and bumper?....

Does this sound like a reasonable price? I have the pearlescent paint and I was told the fenders would need to be blended to get a good match. There would be minimal body work, fill a few rock chips and fill the licence plate holes.

The reason why is that with some colors it's extremely difficult to match factory paint, so the shops "cheat" your eyes. If they paint just the hood you'll see the diff between new paint on the hood and old paint on the fenders. Blending is the only way not to have this problem.

The price is may be worth it, but you better go over the car with a magnifying glass. If there is anything wrong with it don't pay... Even if there is a trim piece that is not fitting properly or overspray on the control arms.

Did you also get a quote for just the front bumper? I also have a some rock chips and a few licence plate holes I want to cover up (I'm in Alberta, no front plates required). But to my surprise, there is no touch up paint for pearlescent. I wonder what it would cost to re-do just the bumper.
I am also considering a vanity plate on the front just to cover up the holes. Any suggestions? I am leaning towards those fake Euro/German plates from ebay. Thanks.
