I will decide tomorrow on a 1.8T, Quattro, sunroof, laser red, for $25,585. Any thoughts on the deal I am getting ($1375 over invoice). Dealer an hour away is saying verbally he will offer $1000 over invoice, I am driving there tomorrow to verify this.....local dealer says service loaners would be avail. to customers who buy from him....
Thanks in advance for comments....

I paid about 5.7% over invoice, or $27,770 for a '99 1.8T QMS with Bose Concert, roof, sport package and all weather. Sounds like you're in the ballpark. Besides, the best you could probably do is $700 over...and what's $300 (providing you hold the dealer to $1k over)?
Good luck.

Brian,
Any deal that is in the $1000-$1500 over invoice range is a fair deal.
For $375 are you really going to drive an hour each way. What about the loaners?
5-6 service appointmnets w/ a rental will eat that up real fast.
Also, when you buy a car from a dealer, invariably you get better service
from their repair dept.
My suggestion, just tell your dealer about the possibilty down the road.
Maybe you can compromise.
Good luck.
/DaveG
Holding out for an S4 Tip (Silver or Santorin?)

I have heard lots of dealers use that "loaner car" line. A lot say they'll give you a new A4 as a loaner, but the reality is that they usually only have one or two of them, so to get one you need to make an appointment and request one far in advance.
Are you looking at a '99 on the lot or ordering a '99.5?
For my '99 I got 1.8T q,m, all-weather, sunroof, sport wheel, for $25,800 ($895 over invoice).

I had a situation where I had personal interaction with a local dealer and he had been very helpful from day one. I also had a dealer about an hour away who had an offer that would end up $300 better out the door, but I had only interacted with him on the net. But I work a lot closer to the first dealer I mentioned and they offer a shuttle service as well as loaners. So in hindsight, with the informative service from my dealer, which I verified with research on the net (awesome a4.org) , the shuttle/loaner option, as well as dealer proximity, I decided to stay local.

Get the best price. There are a million different reasons you get a car at a certain dealership, ( availability, price, you may have moved, etc. ) A dealer can't know why and we shouldn't let them think its profitable for them to discriminate against those who for whatever reason didn't buy from them.
