Default ***DYNO NUMBERS ARE IN for k03 with a chip AND k04 1.8ts***

ill repost for the work crowd tommorrow - but for the night crowd here it is:

TWO QUICK NOTES:
1. well, i just got the car back from currys auto which is a giac/awe tuning installer as well as being a shop that has an AWD dyno.

2. the dyno sheets printed out very odd - with the graphs f'ed up. Once i get currys to email me the proper graphs i will post the pics.

Now, before anything let me tell how their mustang dyno works. the power measured at the wheels is a 27% loss from what it is at the crank. theyve tested stock a4s on their dyno, so they are pretty confident with this number.

the day started off with making a pass with my old Autothority chip. Well here is my first belief - there is no difference between older 1.8ts and the 2001 b/c the HP number was a MEASLY (sp?) 140hp at the wheels. calculated out, thats about 178 crank hp! which, as we all know is only 8 more hp out of the supposed 170hp engines. My thoughts on this: i had only 150hp in my 2001, though I could be wrong who knows.

Then the AWE/GIAC kit goes in after f'n around with Autothoritys **** poor sodering job which almost cost me a whole new ECU.

dyno numbers at the wheels:
190.1hp
221lbs of torque.

with the 27% loss to the wheels calculations, this comes out to be:
241 crank hp!
280 lbs of torque!

now, to those who think these numbers are a little unreasonable - i point you to awe's web site which claims 235hp and 265lbs or torque. So where did the extra power come from? My guess is from the exhaust and k&n filter (only other go fast mods are tt bpv and s4 fenderliner).

After i get a little more time in the car, ill give my reaciton to the kit - but form the 30 minute drive home i know a few things.

1. I NEED A NEW CLUTCH
2. the 22psi spike that the turbo makes is intense
3. the car is a beast on the highway.

Default Are you sure you're doing your calculations correctly?

I thought that it was as follows:

190.1 / (1-.27) = 190.1 / .73 = 260.4

There was an entire thread about this on the performance forum about two weeks ago.

makes more since for the k03 calculations too b/c it shows 190 crank hp then!

so wht would the updated ko4 kit numbers be?

revised numbers: 191 hp at the crank for k03 cars and 260 hp at the crank for 2001 k04 cars.

Not sure about the 260 hp out of a K04, I always thought it was more around 240-250.

I agree that seems a little much. Still thinking around 245hp.
